What a fantastiskt way to start the week! The first trailer for the upcoming third season of the hit Swedish/Danish crime drama, The Bridge (Bron/Broen), has been released!
Robert Festival Award winner Sofia Helin returns to Scandinavian telly this fall, when she reprises her role as Swedish homicide detective Saga Norén for Season 3 of The Bridge.
A crime spree requires Saga to once again team up with a counterpart from the Denmark Police. From the looks of the trailer, the clues are a doozy. (As if the one in the Season 1 opener wasn’t enough.) Only this time, the freakishness has a decidedly different look.
What is the deal with the mannequins and dolls?
What does Saga mean when she says, “You were wrong, Saga.” in the voice-over?
And does she develop a close friendship with her new partner as she did with Martin Rhode (Kim Bodnia), who, given what he got up to in the Season 2 finale, is now…
(Well, if you haven’t seen it, I won’t spoil it for you. Check it out at Hulu in the US or Amazon Instant Video or Netflix in the UK.)
Said series creator and writer Hans Rosenfeldt, “We have a lot left to tell about Saga Norén. Now we can invite viewers to [meet] the exciting new characters in the world of The Bridge and develop their relationships to each other. I promise that no one will be disappointed.”
The Bridge: Season 3 premieres on SVT in Sweden and DR in Denmark this fall. In the UK, it will air on BBC Four, which also hasn’t announced the debut date yet. Stay tuned for details about when and where it will screen in the US.
