Viaplay Content Distribution announced today that it has picked up the sales rights for 20 premium Euro TV titles fromSkyShowtime for international distribution.

The deal between Viaplay Content Distribution and SkyShowtime grants Viaplay international distribution rights for 20 Euro TV titles that span 11 countries, including dramas, thrillers, comedies, and documentaries that showcase some of the continent’s most distinctive storytelling voices and creative talent.
Depending on where you’re located, some or perhaps all of the titles have been made available in your territory before. Such is the case for many shows on the list that came and went from the US (mostly to/from HBO Max), some within a very short time frame. Whether any of us will get to see them again or for the first time will depend on if international buyers for streaming (or even linear) channels pick them up for our respective geographies.
Me, personally, I have my fingers crossed that a single streaming service, whether it’s Viaplay US or another, picks up all 20 of the titles, so I can watch the ones I haven’t seen or didn’t get a chance to finish (because they got yanked) and re-watch the ones I have seen (because they’re awesome), all in one place. If not, then spread out across just two or three channels (hello, subscription costs), as long as all 20 are made available in the US. (Perhaps you wish the same, too, wherever you are.)
Anyhoo, here are the titles that Viaplay Content Distribution is making available to international buyers:
