Camilla Läckberg’s Erica is the first French-language Euro TV series adapted from titles in the “Fjällbacka” series of crime novels by internationally best-selling Swedish author Camilla Läckberg. The first season of the television series consists of three two-episode stories based on the first three “Fjällbacka” books: The Ice Princess, The Preacher, and The Stonecutter.

The series stars Julie De Bona (The Count of Monte Cristo, Women at War) as the titular heroine, Erica Faure, and Grégory Fitoussi (Spiral, Nine Perfect Strangers) as Police Captain Patrick Saab.

In the series opener, Erica, a successful crime writer, returns to her hometown of Port-Clément to settle her parents’ estate. Soon after arriving, she finds her childhood friend, Alexandra, dead from a supposed suicide. Convinced that Alexandra didn’t take her own life, Erica launches her own investigation and crosses paths with Captain Patrick Saab of the town’s police. As the pair embark on a search for the truth together, Erica’s past and present are soon entangled.

The cast also includes Benjamin Douba-Paris (Deadly Tropics), Théo Fernandez (The Bonfire of Destiny), Maud Baecker (Love (and Trouble) in Paris), Hubert Delattre (Pacific Criminal), and Antoine Duléry (The Little Murders of Agatha Christie), amongst others.

Per Lance Schwulst, Executive Vice President, Content Strategy for MHz Choice, Camilla Läckberg’s Erica “perfectly blends a French sensibility with the popular Nordic Noir genre.” It was a ratings and critical success when it premiered on TF1 in France in January 2025. Called “an entertaining drama” (Télé-Loisirs) and “a light, funny, bright series” (l’Humanité), the premiere racked up 5.7 million viewers and delivered a 34.7% share amongst women under 50. (This means that, out of all viewers in France who were watching something on telly during the Sunday 8:50-9:50pm time slot, 34.7% of them were women under 50 who were watching Camilla Läckberg’s Erica.)

The program marks the third “Läckberg” series for MHz Choice, the first two of which were Swedish adaptations. The first one, Camilla Läckberg’s Fjallbacka Murders, premiered in the US on the streaming service’s predecessor, broadcast channel MHz Worldview, back in 2015, followed by the North American premiere of Camilla Läckberg on MHz Choice in 2017. Both series are currently available for streaming in the US and Canada on MHz Choice and its digital channels, including MHz Choice on Prime Video Channels.

Camilla Läckberg’s Erica is set to premiere on MHz Choice in early 2026. Stay tuned for updates.
