French mystery drama The Disappearance of Kimmy Diore is set for its premiere in the US as well as international territories.
Based on the novel Kids Run the Show by Delphine de Vigan, The Disappearance of Kimmy Diore (Les enfants sont rois) revolves around the kidnapping in broad daylight of six-old-year Kimmy Diore. The abduction sends shock waves beyond her family and friends, as Kimmy is no ordinary kid, but a YouTube star whose videos are followed by millions of viewers.
Leading the investigation is Sara Roussel (Géraldine Nakache, Interns, Fiasco), Brigade Chief at the SDPJ, who must dive into a world she knows nothing about — a world of online videos, social media, and influencers — and connect with the Diore family, who have learned to live under the gaze of their immediate and far-off communities.
While Kimmy’s fans and followers conduct their own investigation, establishing theories and naming culprits, Sara gets closer to Mélanie (Doria Tillier, The Origin of Evil, Boléro), the little girl’s mother. From sharing one confidence to another with Sara, Mélanie reveals her secrets and ones of those around her until she sows doubt about the real culprit…
The Disappearance of Kimmy Diore, a Hulu Original Series, premieres in the US tomorrow, Wednesday, October 23, exclusively on Hulu. A Disney+ Original internationally, it debuts in other territories on the same date on Disney+.
Featuring in the six-episode drama are Oussama Kheddam (Interns), India Hair (Call My Agent!), Panayotis Pascot (Haven Of Grace), Sébastien Pouderoux (Ad Vitam), and Cyril Metzger (Off Season), amongst others.
