The US premiere date for the Swedish drama thriller series, Hostage, has been set.
Adapted from Fredrika Bergman’s novel Hostage, the fourth title in her “Fredrika Bergman” thrillers, Swedish TV series Hostage (Kapningen) is a follow-up to mystery-crime drama series Sthlm Rekviem, also based on “Fredrika Bergman” books.
In Hostage, a Nordic Airlines flight from Stockholm to San Francisco is hijacked by remote control. The hijackers demand that a professor from Lebanon, who is in custody in Stockholm, be released, or else they will blow up the plane. They also demand that secret documents relating to an operation be made public.
Teaming up once again are criminologist Fredrika Bergman (Liv Mjönes, The Lawyer, Modus) and investigator Alex Recht (Beck, Riding in Darkness), who must identify the hijackers before the plane is downed, either by the hijackers making good on their threat or the US military shooting it out of the sky. As a conspiracy unfolds, Fredrika begins to suspect the truth is closer than it appears.
Hostage, a Walter Presents title, premieres in the US and Canada on Friday, November 1, on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel.
The cast of the six-episode series also includes Ana Gil de Melo Nascimento (Gåsmamman), Adam Lundgren (The Restaurant), Gustaf Hammarsten (The Sandhamn Murders), Görel Crona (Love Me), Hannes Fohlin (The Restaurant), and Zardasht Rad (Murder in Sweden).
