Where’s Wanda? is a new German-language dark comedy series starring International Emmy® Award nominee Heike Makatsch (Love Actually, Hilde), German Comedy Award winner Axel Stein (The Vault, Not My Day), multi-award winner Lea Drinda (The Gryphon, We Children from Bahnhof Zoo), newcomer Leo Simon, Nikeata Thompson (How to Dad), Palina Rojinski (Welcome to Germany), Kostja Ullmann (Paradise), and Harriet Herbig-Matten (Maxton Hall).

The story follows Carlotta (Makatsch) and Dedo Klatt (Stein), who are desperate to bring home their 17-year-old daughter, Wanda (Drinda), who disappeared several months ago without a trace. After waiting in vain for the police to find her, the parents take matters into their own hands.

With the help of their tech-savvy son, Ole (Simon), Carlotta and Dedo obtain surveillance devices and disguise themselves as employees of an electrical company — bugging first their neighborhood and then half of their suburb, and finding out that, behind closed doors, none of their neighbors are who they pretend to be.

Where’s Wanda?, an Apple TV+ Original Series, premieres globally with the first two episodes on Wednesday, October 2, exclusively on Apple TV+. New episodes will be released every Wednesday through November 13.

The eight-episode series also features Devid Striesow (All Quiet on the Western Front), Jasmin Shakeri (The Magic Flute), and Joachim Król (The Most Desired Man).

A production of UFA Fiction, a Fremantle company, Where’s Wanda? is created, written, and executive produced by Royal Television Society nominee Oliver Lansley (Flack) and based on a story by series co-creator Zoltan Spirandelli (Vaya con Dios). It is directed by award-winning filmmakers Christian Ditter (How to be Single), who also serves as an executive producer, and Tobi Baumann (Faking Hitler). The executive producers are Rockie Award winner Nataly Kudiabor (Arthur‘s Law) and two-time International Emmy® Award winner Sebastian Werninger (The Physician).

Joining Where’s Wanda? in Apple TV+’s expanding slate of non-English-language programs is the company’s second German-language Original series, the recently-announced KRANK Berlin, a gritty new hospital drama starring Haley Louise Jones.
