Don Matteo: Season 9 (Italy)
It’s been a long time coming, and it arrives soon on your favorite streaming device — it being a brand new season (outside of Italy) of fan-favorite mystery series Don Matteo. Season 9 finds crime-solving Catholic priest Don Matteo (Terence Hill) called to Spoleto, a city in Perugia roughly 100km from Gubbio. Marshal Nino Cecchini (Nino Frassica) and Captain Giulio Tommasi (Simone Montedoro) are already working in Spoleto, transferred due to the merger of Carabinieri stations caused by budget cuts. After he solves the mystery, Don Matteo is also transferred to Spoleto, where he, Cecchini, Tommasi, housekeeper Natalina (Nathalie Guettà), and sacristan Pippo (Francesco Scali) are one big happy family again.
Don Matteo: Season 9 premieres in the US and Canada on Tuesday, April 5.
Murder In…: Season 9 (Meurtres à…) (France)
In the brand new season of this popular series, another favorite amongst MHz Choice viewers, murder mysteries take place in various picturesque areas of France, including Albi, Berry, Blois, Cayenne, Granville, Lisieux, Mulhouse, Pont l’Évêque, and the Three Valleys.

Spitfire: Season 2 (Treufoc) (Spain)
Set in Mallorca, the new season of this dark Catalan-language crime thriller sees Detective Aina Anglada (Queralt Albinyana, Night and Day) leading the judicial police’s homicide team in the hunt for the Triangle Killer, who has committed a string of gruesome murders and sown fear throughout Mallorca, seemingly without any apparent motive for the crimes.
Spitfire: Season 2 premieres in the US and Canada on Tuesday, April 12.
The Family (Porodica) (Serbia)
This five-part miniseries, the winner of the Best Drama Series award at the 2021 Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF), tells the inside story of the three days leading up to the arrest of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milošević on March 31, 2001, which ultimately led to his extradition to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia to stand trial for war crimes. Part historical fiction, part thriller, and part intimate family drama, it stars Boris Isaković (The Last Panthers, All the Cities of the North, Ordinary People) as Slobodan Milošević, a role for which he won the Best Actor – TV Series award at the SFF. As the drama unfolds, viewers get a close-up view of family ties and shifting allegiances from both inside Milošević’s Belgrade home and within the fraught halls of a fractured government in the lead-up to his arrest.
Costarring SFF Best Actress – TV Series nominee Mirjana Karanovic (Legacy), The Family premieres in the US and Canada on Tuesday, April 19.
Deadly Tropics: Season 2 (Tropiques criminels) (France)
Set on the breathtaking, sun-drenched island of Martinique, the new season of this fun, female-driven dramedy mystery series opens with police officer Gaëlle Crivelli (Béatrice de la Boulaye, The Returned) returning to duty after her sabbatical and, on her first day back, resolving a tense hostage situation — by shooting fellow copper Melissa Sainte-Rose (Sonia Rolland, Murder in the Somme). Alive, shaken, and stirred, Mélissa must then manage the arrival of her children’s baby daddy. He wants to reconnect with Melissa, but in sensing her lack of enthusiasm, he starts cozying up to Crivelli, who finds him charming — thereby creating another test for these two women.
Deadly Tropics: Season 2 premieres in the US and Canada on Tuesday, April 26.
All of the above titles will be available to screen on MHz Choice in the US and Canada via the MHz Choice website, the streamer’s Android, iOS and other apps, and on its digital channels, including MHz Choice on Amazon Channels.
