The weekend is in full swing and MHz Choice just dropped the trailer for the first episode in Season 7 of Beck. Yay!
Judging by the trailer, the Season 7 opener looks to be very noir indeed.
In “Undercover,” the first of four new episodes, the murder of a young boy points Beck’s group to a narcotics network. But investigating them isn’t as cut and dried as it could be, as Klas Fredén (Jonas Karlsson, Death of a Pilgrim) has been running a long-term undercover operation and doesn’t want to jeopardize his case.
However, Fredén grants the team, led by Alex Beijer (Jennie Silfverhjelm, Don’t Ever Wipe Tears Without Gloves), permission to pursue their murder investigation concurrently with his. The conflict that arises, though, causes division chief Martin Beck (Peter Haber, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) to become involved in his former unit’s work, which ultimately invigorates him.
Meanwhile, newly-single Steinar (Kristofer Hivju, Game of Thrones) is having a hard time, torn between his Stockholm police work and missing his children in Oslo. Oskar (Måns Nathanaelson, The Sandhamn Murders) and Jenny (Anna Asp, A Thousand Hours) try to help him overcome his loneliness — by introducing him to Tinder!
But it is the introduction of one of Fredén’s undercover agents, Josef Eriksson (Martin Wallström, Johan Falk, The Sandhamn Murders), that proves pivotal to the season as it plays out…
Reprising their roles in the new season are Ingvar Hirdwall (Wallander), Rebecka Hemse (The Days the Flowers Bloom), and Åsa Karlin (Double Life). Featuring in “Undercover” are Linus Wahlgren (Blue Eyes) and Ellen Jelinek (Miss Friman’s War).
Beck: Season 7 premieres in the US and Canada on Tuesday, December 21, exclusively on MHz Choice and its digital channels, including MHz Choice on Amazon Channels.
